Botox® Injections in Bonita Springs, FL

Physician-supervised onabotulinumtoxinA — for dynamic wrinkles, advanced contouring, and more

Botox® (onabotulinumtoxinA) is the original FDA-approved neurotoxin for cosmetic use and the most widely studied injectable in aesthetic medicine. It works by temporarily blocking the nerve signal at the neuromuscular junction: relaxing the targeted facial muscles responsible for dynamic wrinkles without affecting surrounding tissue or expression.

At DNA Wellness and Longevity Institute, every Botox® treatment is performed personally by Dr. Katherine Ortiz. No injector staff. No templates. Every placement decision is made by the physician based on your anatomy, your muscle movement, and the result you're trying to achieve.

Understanding Botox®

How Botox® Works

Dynamic wrinkles — forehead lines, frown lines between the brows (the "11s"), and crow's feet around the eyes — are caused by repetitive facial muscle contractions over years of expression. Botox® interrupts the acetylcholine signal between the nerve and the muscle, temporarily preventing contraction and allowing the overlying skin to smooth.

Results appear within 3–7 days, peak at 10–14 days, and last approximately 3–4 months in most patients. With consistent treatment every 3–4 months, many patients find that results extend over time as treated muscles gradually weaken through disuse — meaning the same dose lasts longer.

How it helps

Treatment Areas & Applications

Botox® at DNA Wellness is not limited to standard wrinkle reduction. Dr. Ortiz uses neurotoxin for a range of standard and advanced applications:

Forehead lines — Horizontal lines across the forehead caused by frontalis muscle movement. Dosing and placement are calibrated to smooth the lines while preserving natural lift and expression.

Frown lines (glabella / "11s") — Vertical lines between the brows caused by the corrugator and procerus muscles. One of the most impactful single treatments for a rested, less stressed appearance.

Crow's feet — Fine lines at the outer corners of the eyes caused by the orbicularis oculi. Treated conservatively to preserve natural eye movement and warmth of expression.

Brow lifting — Strategic placement above the lateral brow tail relaxes the depressor muscles and allows the elevator to pull upward — creating a non-surgical brow lift effect without any incision.

Masseter reduction (jaw slimming) — Injection into the masseter muscle reduces its bulk over a series of treatments, softening a square or wide jawline into a more oval shape. Also used therapeutically for bruxism (teeth grinding) and TMJ-related jaw tension.

Nefertiti lift — Treatment of the platysmal bands in the neck and along the jawline to tighten the lower face, reduce jowling, and define the jaw-neck angle without surgery.

Lip flip — A small, precise dose above the upper lip border relaxes the orbicularis oris, causing the upper lip to gently roll outward for a subtle pout — without adding filler volume.

Gummy smile correction — Relaxing the upper lip levator muscles reduces the amount of gum visible when smiling, creating a more balanced smile line.

Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) — Botox® injected into the underarms, palms, or soles blocks sweat gland activation, providing significant relief from hyperhidrosis for 4–6 months per treatment.

The Process

What to Expect at DNA Wellness

Step 01 — Consultation & Assessment Dr. Ortiz evaluates your facial anatomy, muscle movement, and skin quality — and reviews your treatment history, goals, and any medications that may affect healing or bruising. You leave with a clear treatment plan, honest outcome expectations, and pricing before any commitment.

Step 02 — Treatment Botox® injections are quick — most sessions take 15–30 minutes. No numbing cream is required for most patients, though it is available on request. Injections are made with a fine needle directly into the targeted muscles. Common post-treatment effects include mild redness or swelling at injection sites, which typically resolve within a few hours.

Step 03 — Results & Follow-Up Results appear at 3–7 days and are assessed at a 2-week follow-up to confirm appropriate dosing, even distribution, and symmetry. Any minor adjustments are made at that visit. Maintenance treatments are typically scheduled at 3–4 months.

Questions Answered

Frequently Asked Questions About Botox & Dermal Fillers

Q1: What is the difference between Botox®, Xeomin®, and Dysport®? All three are FDA-approved botulinum toxin type A neuromodulators that work through the same mechanism, but they differ in formulation and unit dosing. Botox® contains accessory proteins alongside the active toxin. Xeomin® is a "naked" toxin with no accessory proteins — preferred for patients with prior antibody resistance. Dysport® has a slightly faster onset and a broader diffusion pattern suited to larger treatment areas. Dr. Ortiz will recommend the right neurotoxin for your anatomy and history at consultation.

Q2: How long does Botox® last? Most patients see results last 3–4 months. With consistent treatment, results often extend over time. High-movement areas (crow's feet, forehead) may metabolize the product faster than lower-movement areas (lip flip, hyperhidrosis).

Q3: Will I look frozen or unnatural? Not when placed correctly. Dr. Ortiz's approach prioritizes preserved movement and natural expression — the goal is a refreshed, rested appearance, not an immobilized one. Dosing is intentionally conservative on the first visit, with the option to add at your 2-week follow-up.

Q4: Is Botox® painful? Most patients describe Botox® injections as a brief pinch. Sessions are quick, and the discomfort is minimal. Numbing cream is available on request for more sensitive patients or larger treatment areas.
