Xeomin® Injections in Bonita Springs, FL

The pure-form neurotoxin : physician-supervised incobotulinumtoxinA at DNA Wellness Institute

Xeomin® (incobotulinumtoxinA) is an FDA-approved botulinum toxin type A neurotoxin distinguished by one key difference from Botox® and Dysport®: it contains only the pure active toxin protein — with no accessory or complexing proteins in the formulation. This is why Xeomin® is often referred to as the "naked neurotoxin."

What is Xeomin®

Why the "Naked Neurotoxin" Matters

When Botox® or Dysport® is injected repeatedly over years, the immune system can occasionally develop antibodies to the accessory proteins present in those formulations. Over time, this can result in diminishing results — the toxin works less effectively or for a shorter duration than it once did.

Because Xeomin® contains no accessory proteins, there is nothing for the immune system to react to beyond the active toxin itself. This makes Xeomin® the clinical choice for:

  • Patients who have noticed their Botox® or Dysport® results are not lasting as long as they used to

  • Patients who want to reduce their long-term risk of developing antibody resistance from the start

  • Patients who prefer the cleanest possible formulation with the fewest additional proteins

Results with Xeomin® appear within 3–5 days, peak at 10–14 days, and last approximately 3–4 months — comparable to Botox® in duration for most patients.

Treatment Areas & Applications

Xeomin® is FDA-approved for glabellar lines (the frown lines between the brows) and is used at DNA Wellness across the same range of applications as other neurotoxins:

Frown lines (glabella / "11s") — The vertical lines between the brows caused by corrugator and procerus muscle movement. Xeomin®'s FDA approval is specifically for this indication, making it well-validated for this area.

Forehead lines — Horizontal lines from frontalis muscle movement. Dosed and placed to smooth lines while preserving natural brow position and expression.

Crow's feet — Fine lines at the outer corners of the eyes from orbicularis oculi contraction. Treated conservatively to maintain warmth and natural eye movement.

Brow lifting — Targeted lateral placement relaxes the depressor muscles, allowing the brow elevators to lift the tail of the brow for a non-surgical lift effect.

Masseter reduction (jaw slimming) — Reduces masseter muscle bulk over a series of treatments, softening a wide or square jawline and relieving bruxism and jaw tension.

Nefertiti lift — Treats the platysmal bands along the neck and jawline to define and tighten the lower face without surgery.

Lip flip — A precise small dose above the upper lip border gently rolls the lip outward for a subtle pout without filler volume.

Hyperhidrosis — Blocks sweat gland activation in the underarms, palms, or soles for significant reduction in excessive sweating lasting 4–6 months.

The Process

What to Expect at DNA Wellness

Step 01 — Consultation & Assessment Dr. Ortiz reviews your neurotoxin history, any changes in results you've noticed over time, your facial anatomy, and your treatment goals. If antibody resistance is a concern, Xeomin® will be discussed as part of that conversation. You leave with a clear plan and pricing before any commitment.

Step 02 — Treatment Xeomin® injections take 15–30 minutes for most appointments. No numbing is required for most patients, though it is available on request. Injections are made with a fine needle directly into the targeted muscles. Mild redness or swelling at injection sites typically resolves within a few hours.

Step 03 — Results & Follow-Up Results are assessed at a 2-week follow-up to confirm dosing, symmetry, and distribution. Any minor adjustments are made at that visit. Maintenance treatments are scheduled at 3–4 months.

Questions Answered

Frequently Asked Questions About Botox & Dermal Fillers

Q1: What makes Xeomin® different from Botox®? Xeomin® contains only the pure active botulinum toxin type A — no accessory or complexing proteins. Botox® and Dysport® both contain additional proteins alongside the active toxin. This difference matters primarily for patients who have developed or want to reduce the risk of antibody resistance over years of treatment. For most patients, results are clinically comparable in onset, duration, and effect.

Q2: Is Xeomin® better than Botox®? Neither is universally better — they serve different patient profiles. Xeomin® is the preferred choice when antibody resistance is a concern or when a patient wants the simplest possible formulation. Botox® remains the most studied neurotoxin with the longest clinical track record. Dr. Ortiz will recommend the right product for your specific situation at consultation.

Q3: How long does Xeomin® last? Most patients see results lasting 3–4 months, comparable to Botox®. Patients switching to Xeomin® after diminished results with other toxins often notice improved duration as the antibody response is no longer triggered.

Q4: Can I switch from Botox® to Xeomin®? Yes, and it is a straightforward transition. Dr. Ortiz accounts for unit conversion differences between products (Xeomin® and Botox® are dosed at roughly a 1:1 ratio) and will adjust your protocol accordingly at consultation.
